A blog about teaching middle and high school math using interactive notebooks.
glenn blakney's insight:
I have done this on a much smaller and less sophisiticated scale at the Middle School level, and my kids loved it! They love the tactile, they love the real-world aspect, and they love to design their own space. It shows the practical application of scale very well and is a far more durable lesson than simple practice problems. The investigation of irregular spaces differentiates the lesson. BTW: I've used the "I'm a teacher" line many times to get all kinds of things for my classroom.
